NOPD Information

New Orleans, one of America’s greatest cities, was devastated by one of our nation’s greatest disasters, Hurricane Katrina. New Orleans IS recovering, and making real progress — but to continue that progress, the community needs a stable, secure environment in which to rebuild.

Quality law enforcement is essential to creating that secure environment. And quality people are at the heart of it all.

The New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) is seeking — quality people — capable individuals with character, integrity, and a sincere desire to serve others by making their community a better place to live. And NOPD is a better place to work. Salaries and benefits for police officers have increased, and now lead law enforcement pay scales of metropolitan areas in the region.

What’s more, to attract the most qualified candidates, the New Orleans Police and Justice Foundation (NOPJF) is funding signing bonuses to new recruits, as well as housing support to eligible individuals. The NOPJF also funds tuition reimbursement programs, which provide officers with career advancement opportunities and improves professional standards throughout the NOPD.

If YOU have what it takes, then join the front line in the new New Orleans — Join NOPD!
